I would like to thank everyone who joined us this year for JANLAN 2012. This year we had quite a few attendees returning after JanLan 2011 in addition to some new faces. Thank you all for your support.

In addition I would like to highlight this year’s sponsors which help make our events as awesome as they are. Our sponsors for this year were: Trendnet, EVGA, Zalman and Dutch Brothers Coffee. Each attendee received a variety of swag from Trendnet and EVGA as well as a voucher for a free coffee from Dutch Brothers Coffee. The winners of our Modern Warfare and Starcraft 2 tournaments each won a high speed router provided by Trendnet.

The first night started out pretty hectic with a room change and a blown router putting our staff to the test. By two in the morning we were all settled down in the main room at the Elks and began a World of Tanks marathon with nearly every attendee participating in the carnage. The sounds of victory, defeat and crushing treads echoed throughout Saturday morning. As the day went on players invariably switched between various FPS and RTS games and began to get ready for the competition portion of the event. As night began to fall the first rounds of our main tournaments commenced. Starcraft 2 started out quick with a particularly close match with “Doc Taylor” which was decided by a pair of Doc’s Banshees getting behind his opponents main. In the end Doc was defeated by “Chaos” and his unstoppable macro. The MW3 tournament was equally gritty with it all coming down to a few well played rounds. In the end Yutz was able to pull out ahead. Both players received a gaming-grade wireless router from Trendnet and posed for pictures in front of our Janlan 2012 banner. After the prizes were awarded to the winners Fishy and several other staff talked about the future of JanLan and the other events we have planned in the future. For the rest of the event we had various attendee organized tournaments and after 40 hours people went home happy and ready for next year.

JanLan 2012 was a great event and we appreciate everyone who was able to turn out. Plans have already begun for JanLan 2013 so like us on Facebook or checkup here for updates.
